India, Aug. 17 -- The Thai stock market had alternated between positive and negative finishes through the last seven trading days since the end of the three-day slide in which it had fallen more than a dozen points or 0.7 percent. The Stock Exchange of Thailand now sits just above the 1,625-point plateau and it's expected to remain rangebound again on Tuesday.

The global forecast for the Asian markets is soft on surging crude oil prices and increasing anxiety in the Middle East. The European and U.S. markets were down and the Asian bourses figure to follow suit.
