India, Oct. 2 -- Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (TEVA), a biopharmaceutical company, reported new clinical and mechanistic data for ecopipam, an investigational selective D1 dopamine receptor antagonist being evaluated in pediatric patients with Tourette syndrome.
The data were presented at the International Congress of Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders (MDS) in Seoul, South Korea, while a separate review of ecopipam's mechanism and clinical evidence was published in the Journal of Child Neurology.
Ecopipam is designed to block dopamine signaling at the D1 receptor in the brain's direct motor pathway. The therapy has received FDA Priority Review and Orphan Drug designation for pediatric Tourette syndrome.
