India, July 8 -- Seres Therapeutics, Inc. (MCRB) on Wednesday reported positive top-line results from an early-stage study of SER-155 in patients with immune checkpoint inhibitor-related enterocolitis (irEC). Shares of the company rose more than 4% in premarket trading.
The study evaluated SER-155 in 15 patients with moderate-to-severe irEC, a condition that affects about 25% of immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy recipients in the U.S.
By Day 15, 80% of participants achieved an immunosuppressive-free clinical response, the study's primary endpoint, indicating an improvement in diarrhea symptoms without the use of corticosteroids or biologic immunomodulators.
