India, Sept. 19 -- Attorneys representing Sean "Diddy" Combs in a $100 million defamation lawsuit have asked a federal court to allow them to withdraw, citing more than six months of unpaid legal fees and a breakdown in communication with the disgraced music mogul.
Michael Tremonte, a partner at New York law firm Sher Tremonte, said in a court filing that Combs had not paid a substantial balance of fees, costs and expenses. The firm also said Combs had declined to make himself available for timely and substantive discussions about his cases for more than four months.
The firm is representing Combs in civil litigation, including the defamation case against Courtney Burgess, attorney Ariel Mitchell and Nexstar Media Inc.
