India, Aug. 27 -- Salesforce, Inc. (CRM) shares surged $43.37, or 21.09 percent, to $248.99 on Thursday, possibly following the company's strong second-quarter earnings report released the previous day.
The stock opened at $230.05 and traded between $231.00 and $249.80. It has traded in a 52-week range of $146.32 to $269.11 on the New York Stock Exchange. Trading volume reached 22.78 million shares, compared with an average daily volume of 14.76 million shares.
Net income increased to $3.526 billion, or $4.29 per share, from $1.887 billion, or $1.96 per share, a year earlier. Adjusted earnings rose to $4.844 billion, or $5.90 per share. Revenue increased 10.8 percent to $11.345 billion from $10.236 billion.
