India, Sept. 11 -- Romania's consumer price inflation moderated further in August to the lowest level in more than a year, data from the National Institute of Statistics showed on Friday.

The consumer price index, or CPI, rose 6.2 percent year-on-year in August, slower than the 8.2 percent increase in July. The expected inflation rate was 6.3 percent.

Moreover, the latest inflation rate was the weakest since June 2025, when prices grew 5.7 percent.
