India, Oct. 19 -- Oil prices traded lower on Monday after U.S. President Donald Trump waived sanctions and tariffs on Russia in a move that could pave the way for higher Russian fuel exports.
Brent crude futures traded 1.4 percent lower at $108.40 a barrel after settling at their highest level since May 19 on Friday. WTI crude futures were down 1.1 percent at $97.97 a barrel.
Trump suspended recently passed sanctions and tariffs aimed at Russia, potentially allowing more Russian fuel to reach global markets.
