India, July 6 -- In one of the major upsets of this World Cup, Norway stunned five-time champions Brazil to reach the last eight for the first time in the tournament's history, downing Brazil on the back of an Erling Haaland brace and a brilliant Orjan Nyland display.

Superstar Neymer's penalty goal in the dying minutes of the match couldn't save Brazil from an embarrassing early exit.

Erling Haaland scored in the 79th and 90th minutes. With a total of seven tournament goals so far, he has tied with Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi as the race for the Adidas Golden Boot heats up.

35-year-old Norwegian goal keeper Orjan Nyland denied Gabriel Martinelli and Vinicius Junior from scoring in a number of occasions.
