India, Jan. 4 -- MTR Corporation announced that the Metro Trains West Consortium, its joint venture with a subsidiary of CRRC Corporation Limited, has been awarded a major contract for the Sydney Metro West project in New South Wales, Australia.
Under the contract, the consortium will supply next-generation metro trains and associated systems. It will also oversee commissioning and operation of the new line, which will connect Parramatta - Sydney's key commercial and residential hub in the west - with the city centre.
