India, Aug. 7 -- Mexico's consumer price inflation moderated for the second straight month in July, data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography, or INEGI, showed on Thursday.

The consumer price index climbed 3.51 percent year-on-year in July, slower than the 4.32 percent rise in June.

Data showed that core inflation was broadly stable at 4.23 percent in July versus 4.24 percent in the previous month.

Prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages alone grew 2.55 percent annually in July, and costs for housing and utilities were 3.59 percent higher compared to last year. Meanwhile, information and communication costs dropped 0.2 percent.
