India, Jan. 1 -- Mariah Carey has been awarded $92,000 after a judge dismissed a long-running copyright lawsuit against her over the holiday classic "All I Want For Christmas Is You."

In a case filed in a Los Angeles federal court in November 2023, country singer Andy Stone claimed that Carey copied his 1989 song of the same name.

Stone, who had been seeking $20 million in damages for infringing the copyright of his song, was ordered to pay Carey $92,303.

Judge Monica Ramirez Almadini ruled that Stone's claims "lack merit," and he should pay the amount towards legal expenses.
