India, Oct. 9 -- Malaysia's unemployment rate dropped marginally in August, the Department of Statistics said Friday.
The unemployment rate dropped to 2.9 percent in August from 3.0 percent in July.

Data showed that the number of unemployed decreased by 8,700 from the previous month to 511,600 in August.
The labor market maintained its resilience as the number of employed people increased by 28,800 to 16.87 million, the department said.
