India, Aug. 17 -- Ahead of Monday's holiday for Independence Day, the Indonesia stock market had finished higher in two of three trading days since ending the two-day slide in which it had retreated more than 140 points or 2.2 percent. The global forecast for the Asian markets is soft on surging crude oil prices and increasing anxiety in the Middle East. The European and U.S. markets were down and the Asian bourses figure to follow suit.
