India, July 9 -- Shares of Ionis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (IONS) tumbled nearly 20% on Thursday after the company and partner AstraZeneca reported that the Phase 3 CARDIO-TTRansform trial of eplontersen in transthyretin-mediated amyloid cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM) failed to meet its primary endpoint.

The stock is currently trading at $67.73, down $16.74, or 19.81%, on the Nasdaq. It opened at $67.50 after closing at $84.46 in the previous session. The stock has traded between $40.03 and $86.74 over the past 52 weeks.
