India, Sept. 15 -- GT Biopharma, Inc. (GTBP), a clinical stage immuno-oncology company developing natural killer (NK) cell engager therapies, announced that the U.S. FDA has cleared a new IND application for GTB-5550 in multiple myeloma under an investigator sponsored trial protocol.
Multiple myeloma is a blood cancer affecting plasma cells in the bone marrow, with many patients progressing through several lines of therapy. GTB-5550 is a B7-H3-targeted TriKE NK cells engager designed to activate NK cells against cancer cells. Preclinical findings showed high levels of B7-H3 expression in newly diagnosed multiple myeloma and strong NK-cell-mediated antitumor activity in bone chip models.
