India, Aug. 22 -- Gold traded lower on Friday while the dollar held near a two-week high as investors awaited Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell's highly anticipated speech at the Jackson Hole symposium for clarity about the outlook for interest rates.

Spot gold dipped 0.2 percent to $3,330.88 per ounce in European trade, while U.S. gold futures were down 0.3 percent at $3,373.27.

Powell's remarks may provide signals on whether the U.S. central bank is inclined towards easing policy in September.
