India, Sept. 11 -- Gold edged higher on Friday as oil prices slipped from recent highs and investors awaited key U.S. CPI data later in the day for additional clues on the Federal Reserve's rate trajectory.
Spot gold rose 0.6 percent to $4,343.32 an ounce after hitting a one-week low earlier. U.S. gold futures were down half a percent at $4,384.75 an ounce.
Brent crude futures fell more than 3 percent toward $104 a barrel after the International Energy Agency (IEA) cut its forecast for oil demand this year and reports suggested that Iran and Oman were meeting with Gulf states to reopen shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
