India, Aug. 31 -- GameStop Corp. (GME), a video game retailer, on Monday said it expects second-quarter net income of $290 million to $310 million, compared with $168.6 million a year earlier, helped by gains related to its eBay investment and derivative asset.

Net income includes approximately $238 million of net gains related to the eBay derivative asset and equity investment, partly offset by an approximately $75 million loss on digital assets and related receivables.

Operating income is expected to rise to $150 million to $170 million from $66.4 million a year earlier. Net sales are expected to decline to $780 million to $800 million from $972.2 million, primarily due to the prior-year launch of Nintendo Switch 2, planned store closur...
