India, Sept. 29 -- The U.K. stock market's benchmark index FTSE 100 climbed higher on Tuesday, led by gains in mining and pharmaceuticals sectors even as the mood remained somewhat cautious amid a lack of progress in U.S.-Iran negotiations to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
Miners gained as prices of precious metals rebounded from recent losses. Energy stocks shed ground as oil prices gave up early gains and slipped slightly below the flat line.
