India, Nov. 4 -- European stocks moved up sharply on Wednesday and several markets hit multi-week or even multi-month highs as some stronger-than-expected corporate earnings, weak oil prices and softening bond yields lifted sentiment.
The decisive victory of the Democrats in the U.S. midterm elections also contributed significantly to the bullish mood in the markets.
Following their fine show in the midterm elections, Democrats are projected to win control of both the House and Senate.
