India, Sept. 3 -- Commerzbank AG (1CBK.MI,CBK.DE,CRZBY) on Thursday said its Board of Managing Directors has approved a further share buyback of up to €1.2 billion, starting September 4, 2026, with completion expected no later than February 10, 2027.

The buyback, previously approved by the European Central Bank and the German Finance Agency, forms part of the bank's planned capital return for fiscal 2026. The repurchased shares will subsequently be canceled.

Commerzbank said its total capital return for 2026 is planned to comprise share buybacks and a dividend. The bank intends to return 100% of its net result after AT1 coupon payments and before extraordinary one-off items to shareholders.
