India, July 27 -- Coal India Limited (COALINDIA), an Indian state-owned coal mining company and one of the world's largest coal producers, on Monday reported slightly higher first-quarter profit, primarily helped by growth in revenue.
Attributable profit for the period increased to ?8,852.11 crore or ?14.36 per share from ?8,797.05 crore or ?14.27 per share in the corresponding quarter last year.
Revenue from operations grew 7.8% to ?46,254.80 crore from ?42,919.20 crore in the same period last year.
Total income rose to ?48,295.27 crore from ?44,535.06.
The company declared an interim dividend of ?5.50 per share, payable on or before August 25 to shareholders of record as of July 31.
