India, Jan. 2 -- Chappell Roan, who praised Brigitte Bardot on social media upon learning of the French actress' death, has deleted her post after learning that the late French star was famous for right-wing views that led to convictions in French courts for inciting hatred.

"Holy sh*t I did not know all that insane sh*t Ms. Bardot stood for," Roan wrote on Instagram Stories. "I do not condone this. Very disappointing to learn."

"Rest in peace Ms. Bardot," Roan's initial message read. "She was my inspiration for red wine supernova."

In "Red Wine Supernova," Roan began with the lyric, "She was a playboy, Brigitte Bardot / She showed me things I didn't know."
