India, Sept. 9 -- Footwear maker Caleres Inc. (CAL), while reporting a surge in second-quarter profit with higher revenues, on Wednesday initiated guidance for the third quarter, expecting higher sales. Further, the firm lifted fiscal 2026 earnings forecast, while maintaining sales view.
In pre-market activity on the NYSE, the shares were gaining around 7.05 percent, trading at $12.91.
Looking ahead for the third quarter, the company projects earnings per share of $0.62 to $0.70, and gross margin to improve 150 to 200 basis points, reflecting tariff mitigation efforts and lower current tariff rates.
Consolidated net sales are projected to increase low-single digits versus last year.
