India, Aug. 8 -- Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi says he never expected Ozzy Osbourne to die so soon, revealing the two exchanged text messages the night before the legendary singer's death.
Speaking in a new interview with Guitar Player, Iommi reflected on Black Sabbath's farewell performance, saying it felt "very strange" seeing Osbourne perform from a throne due to his mobility issues.
"On the night, it felt very strange for me because obviously we'd never been onstage with Ozzy in a throne before, sitting down," says Iommi. "He was always jumping around, pulling faces, and making me and Geezer laugh. But on this occasion, I couldn't see him because he's in that throne at the front."
