India, June 10 -- Canadian stocks are likely to open on a negative note on Wednesday amid rising tensions in the Middle East following fresh attacks by Iran and U.S. forces. Investors will also be reacting to the Bank of Canada's monetary policy announcement, due shortly after the opening bell.
The Canadian bank is widely expected to hold interest rate unchanged for a fifth straight meeting. The central bank's views on the economy and future policy stance are eyed.
