India, April 6 -- The Australian stock market is sharply higher in post-holiday trading on Tuesday, reversing the losses in the previous session, following the broadly positive cues from Wall Street overnight. The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 is moving above the 8,750 level, with gains across most sectors led by mining, financial and technology stocks.
The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 Index is gaining 173.10 points or 2.02 percent to 8,752.60, after touching a high of 8,759.30 earlier. The broader All Ordinaries Index is up 179.30 points or 2.04 percent to 8,954.20. Australian stocks ended significantly lower on Thursday prior to the holidays on Friday and Monday.
