India, Sept. 30 -- The Australian dollar weakened against other major currencies in the Asian session on Wednesday, despite the releases of economic data from Australia and China.
Data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics showed that the Australia's consumer price inflation accelerated in August on higher housing and transport costs. Consumer price inflation rose to 4.0 percent from 3.5 percent in July. Inflation continues to remain above the central bank target range of 2-3 percent.
