India, July 8 -- Reigning champions Argentina came back from two goals down to defeat a valiant Egypt 3-2, and keep title defense hopes alive in a thrilling Round of 16 World Cup encounter in Atlanta.
Egyptians were leading until the 84th minute on the merit of Yasser Ibrahim and Mostafa Ziko's goals, but late goals form Cristian Romero, Lionel Messi and Enzo Fernandez saved Argentina from one of the competition's greatest upsets.
Yasser Ibrahim headed Egypt into a shock lead in the 15th minute before their goalkeeper Mostafa Shoubir dived to save a Messi penalty.
