India, Sept. 22 -- Adagene Inc. (ADAG), a clinical-stage biotechnology company, on Tuesday reported receiving clearance from China's National Medicinal Products Administration (NMPA) regarding the investigational new drug (IND) application for ADG138 in treating solid tumors.
ADG138 is a double-masked HER2xCD3 bispecific T cell engager that was designed using the company's proprietary SAFEbody precision masking technology. The drug is activated within the tumor microenvironment to bring about cancer cell death, while minimizing off-target toxicity.
In pre-clinical studies, the drug reportedly achieved potent, T cell mediated anti-tumor activity.
