Wiebes triumphs again to set stage win record at Women's Tour de France
France, Aug. 3 -- The 27-year-old burst clear of the pack with 250m remaining of the 147.9km course to take glory.
She completed the second stage between Aigle and Geneva in three hours, 42 minutes and eight seconds.
Elisa Balsamo was second and Marianne Vos was third. The defending champion Pauline Ferrand-Prevot finished the second stage in 38th place to lie ninth overall, 20 seconds behind Wiebes.
The end of the stage was tough on Riejanne Markus who led the race alone over the final 39 kilometres before she was reeled in just half a kilometre from the finishing line.
