Sound of the silver screen: meet the man getting film music made
France, June 7 -- Being a film music supervisor demands a finely tuned ear, a talent for coordination, creative vision and above all, patience. Pierre-Marie Dru has been honing these skills for over 20 years.
One of the go-to professionals in the industry, his credits include Jacques Audiard's 2024 musical Emilia Perez - a four-year collaboration which went on to win a slew of prizes, including the Oscar for Best Original Song.
Four more films he worked on were featured at this year's Cannes Fim Festival: World War I drama Coward, directed by Belgian Lukas Dhont; Agnes Jaoui's opera comedy Crescendo; the animation Lucy Lost by Olivier Clert, and biopic De Gaulle by Antonin Baudry.
