France, May 12 -- Dembele, 28, claimed the UNFP Ligue 1 player of the year award for the second consecutive season.

The France international picked up the award five days after scoring the goal that sent PSG into the Champions League final.

Coach of the year

Pierre Sage was named coach of the year for steering Lens to at least second place in Ligue 1 and an appearance in the final of the Coupe de France on 22 May at the Stade de France.

"It's a great source of pride," said the 47-year-old Frenchman after receiving his accolade from France coach Didier Deschamps.

"At Lens, we've achieved a lot with very little," added Sage. "It's a testament to the hard work of the technical staff and the commitment the players have shown all season....
