Nepal, April 22 -- Less than a month after the formation of a near two-thirds majority government led by Balen Shah, two ministers have stepped down amid separate controversies.
Labour, Employment and Social Security Minister Deepak Kumar Sah was dismissed earlier following allegations that he misused his position to facilitate his wife's involvement in a previously inactive health insurance-related body. Acting on the recommendation of Rabi Lamichhane, the prime minister removed Sah just 14 days after his appointment.
Following his dismissal, new appointments were made, with Gauri Kumari taking charge as Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, and Ramji Yadav as Labour Minister on March 27.
