Nepal, Feb. 25 -- The government has reiterated that there is no security threat for the elections scheduled on March 5 and that the elections will be held successfully on the prescribed date.

Talking with the state-owned Rastriya Samachar Samiti, Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal said most of the weapons looted from the security forces during September 8-9 Gen Z protests and violence have been recovered by the government. "In this context, there is no security threat from runaway inmates and looted weapons," said Aryal.

At a time when suspicion has been raised at various fronts on whether the government could hold the general election on the stipulated date, the government has reiterated its position to maintain security for this purpose....
