Nepal, July 28 -- Markets in Biratnagar, the capital of Koshi Province, remained closed on Tuesday in protest against the fatal incident that occurred in Kaptanganj, Dewanganj Rural Municipality-3 of Sunsari on Sunday night.

Most shops in the city's main commercial areas remained shut, while public transportation continued to operate normally.

Security has been tightened across Biratnagar following the shutdown. Both the Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force (APF) have been deployed in key market areas to maintain law and order.
