Nepal, Nov. 5 -- Sudurpaschim University is dealing with a serious issue of land encroachment, having lost approximately 300 bighas of its property.

Vice Chancellor of the University, Hemraj Pant, informed that its constituent campus, Tikapur Multiple Campus, was suffering the encroachment of such a massive property. Out of 380 bighas of land, 300 bighas was usurped by others.

The Tikapur Development Committee had handed over the land to the campus for its use 20 years ago. However, it has been able to use only 80 bighas of land. The land grab is triggered by the freed kamaiyas and landless squatters.
