Security beefed up in eastern Terai districts with drone surveillance after home minister's directive
Nepal, July 31 -- Security agencies have intensified surveillance in several districts of Madhesh and Koshi provinces following a directive from Home Minister Sudan Gurung, amid heightened tensions in the eastern Tarai.
The enhanced monitoring comes in the wake of the Sunsari incident, which has raised security concerns across the region. Authorities have begun deploying drones to monitor sensitive areas as part of strengthened security measures.
Security agencies said legal action would be taken against anyone found to be spreading rumors, inciting communal or religious discord, or engaging in activities that violate the law.
