Nepal, Feb. 15 -- The victim, 50-year-old local resident Lakhan Tamang, was seriously injured after being struck by a scooter bearing registration number Province 3-02-014 P 1443. He was taken to College of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital in Bharatpur for treatment, where he died on Sunday morning, police said.

A pedestrian died after being hit by a scooter at Sangam Marg in Gaindakot Municipality-8 on Saturday night.

According to Anil Pandit, information officer and deputy superintendent of police at the District Police Office Nawalparasi (Bardaghat-Susta East), the scooter rider, 26-year-old Prabin Thapa Magar of Gaindakot-8, Karanghari, has been taken into police custody for further investigation.
