Nepal, July 16 -- The Federation of Community School Management Committees Nepal has urged the government to reconsider its decision to make Sunday a weekly holiday for schools.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, the federation representatives said the move would make it difficult for schools to complete the annual curriculum and could negatively affect students' academic performance. It called on the government to continue operating schools on Sundays. The government had introduced Sunday holidays for government offices and schools as part of efforts to ease fuel demand.
