Nepal, July 26 -- Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Gyanendra Shahi has urged Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle to take seriously the losses suffered by stock market investors.

In a social media post, Shahi claimed that investors have lost around Rs 215 billion since the Nepali month of Falgun.

He also asked the finance minister to treat with seriousness the case of Rashmi Rijal, who, according to Shahi, died by suicide following the stock market crash.

"Investors have lost around Rs 215 billion since Falgun. The stock market has collapsed, and Rashmi Rijal was driven to take her own life. Finance Minister, please take this issue seriously," Shahi wrote.
