Nepal, Aug. 7 -- Police have launched an investigation against Jayant Srivastava, general manager of Siprabi Securities, over allegations of share-related fraud.

According to the Kathmandu District Police Office, Srivastava was taken into custody on Wednesday morning following a complaint filed against him. He is accused of defrauding Rs 115 million in share transactions.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Kuldeep Chand said the court has granted police three days to investigate the matter. The complaint was lodged by Meeta Agarwal Murarka, claiming Srivastava failed to return the invested amount.

Earlier, another accused in a similar fraud case, Dipendra Agarwal, had reached a settlement and was released.
