Kathmandu, Oct. 17 -- Prime Minister Sushila Karki has pledged to transfer power to a democratically elected government within the next six months.
Addressing heads of diplomatic missions and resident ambassadors at Singha Durbar on Friday, Karki said her government's main focus is on ensuring fair and peaceful elections.
"I have been entrusted with the responsibility of the prime minister not in the capacity of any political party, but in the interest of safeguarding the constitution and democracy," she said. "My first priority is conducting fair elections."
