Nepal, Aug. 14 -- The Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu held a flag-hoisting ceremony on Friday to mark Pakistan's 80th Independence Day.

Pakistan's Ambassador to Nepal Mohammad Aamir Khan unfurled the national flag at the embassy's Chancery in the presence of members of the Pakistani community, Nepali guests and embassy officials and their families.

Addressing the ceremony, Ambassador Khan paid tribute to the struggle for independence in 1947 and the sacrifices of Pakistan's founding generation. He highlighted Pakistan's diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions in West Asia and reaffirmed the country's commitment to peace and progress.
