Nepal, April 9 -- CPN-UML Chair and former prime minister KP Sharma Oli has accused the government of keeping him in illegal detention for 13 days by filing what he called politically motivated criminal charges.
In a social media post on Thursday from his hospital bed, Oli claimed that he was released after authorities failed to find sufficient grounds and evidence to pursue the case against him.
"The government filed criminal charges against me out of prejudice and revenge and kept me under illegal detention for 13 days. Eventually, I was released after there was no basis or evidence to prosecute the case," he wrote.
