Nepal, May 27 -- The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has recommended a detailed investigation into possible collusion between Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) chair Rabi Lamichhane and the then jailor in the Nakkhu prison "jailbreak" incident that took place during the Gen-Z protests on September 8 and 9.

Based on a report prepared by a committee coordinated by NHRC member Dr Lily Thapa, the commission has stated that the process of Lamichhane's release from Nakkhu Prison in Lalitpur may involve criminal wrongdoing and has called for investigation and legal action.

According to the NHRC, the recommendation has already been submitted to the Office of the Prime Minister.
