Nepal, Aug. 26 -- The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has launched a new version of its taxpayer portal for testing, with the aim of making services easier, simpler and more efficient for taxpayers.

The IRD launched the portal for trial use on August 25. Director General Dr. Bhishma Kumar Bhusal said the existing taxpayer portal would remain in operation until the trial of the new portal is successfully completed.

The department said the new portal was developed using a "design-driven development" methodology and "microservice architecture." The new system allows taxpayers to access various tax-related services online.
