NEPSE soars 25.55 points; life insurance and non-life lead
Nepal, Sept. 14 -- The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) rose 25.55 points on Monday, as the government considered introducing action plans to reform the secondary market, boosting investor confidence.
On the first trading day of the week, the NEPSE index jumped one percent up to close at 2,585.04 points. In two consecutive trading sessions, the market index jumped over 52 points.
In intraday trading, the NEPSE plunged to as low as 2,558.65 points, while it escalated to the day's high at 2,587.34 points. Trade volume rose to Rs 4.68 billion from Rs 4.35 billion. Share prices of 226 companies increased, while 47 declined and two remained unchanged.
