Nepal, April 15 -- Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) surged 33.27 points to close at 2,866.87 points on Wednesday, the first day of the Nepali New Year 2083.

The secondary market opened at 2,833.60 points and gradually increased to reach the day's high at 2,879.16 points in around the first two hours. The market remained almost stable for the next hour, while it shed around 13 points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

All the sectors have their market values incline. Hotels and tourism jumped by 251.64 points, the largest of all.

The sensitive index, which measures the performance of 'A' class companies, also inclined 5.22 points. Daily turnover soared to Rs 10.53 billion from 8.66 billion.
