Nepal, April 8 -- The Government of Nepal has welcomed the recent announcement of a two-week ceasefire agreement between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran, calling it a constructive step towards de-escalation of tensions in West Asia.

In its statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) noted that the ceasefire provides an opportunity for dialogue, diplomacy, and peaceful resolution of differences, reflecting Nepal's consistent position in favour of settling disputes through peaceful means.
